A quick card

So we got these really cool Hampton Art stamps in at the Zone the other day and I had to have this set:

I just love it. And then I created this card for a quick sketch challenge over at AMR. I used my Nestibilities to cut the circle and scalloped circles. Colored the images with my Copics and Tadaaa, really cute card.

Have you made your Mothers Day card? Me neither but I will soon.

A little Scrappiness on a Rainy day.

Well we woke up to really rainy skies today. But I snuck out and captured this shot of the "Bleeding Hearts" blooming in my garden. I'm shocked that they are bursting with color so early. Thrilled that they are there. You see the rabbits ate my crocus. I should have a big blop of purple out there but NO the rabbits ate them. Should have put the milorganite out quicker. Now I've stopped them.

So I headed to my scrapbook room and used a new Inkadinkado set to create this cute card. I also tried out my new Bazzill In Stitchz template. LOVE it! I like how the circle changes color with the paper. Inside the card reads: Hear you having a woof Day? I think I'll send it to a "Scrubby" friend who needs a little cheering up.

I also caught up on an ATC I owed a friend. I'm still behind 2 more but I'll catch up this week and get everything postal. This was a "Paradise" set from Close to my Heart. The palm tree and hammock were perfect for my "Tropical ATC" theme. I think I need to head back to the beach soon.

To finish my day I went to the Zone and taught a Cricut basic class. What fun. I could talk Cricuting all night. I think Katie needs to produce a handout for these girls to take with them when they leave her class. They were taking notes like crazy. Poor Liz wasn't sure if I'd finish up before it was time to close. But I did. Tomorrows another day. My favorite greenhouse opened today. I might be buying flowers tomorrow. I can't wait.

6-2 Leafs

Yep that's my kid doing the goal dance. It would have been nice if he had scored the goal but he was just excited his team had scored the first goal of the game. Such a change from last spring. We were tied 1-1 at the end of the first. Kids were playing well despite being short 2 forwards. We spent most of the second period short handed. And yes that is my #93 in the box. He's sitting beside coaches kid, who went in first, we were short 5 on 3. Good thing we had worked on the penalty kill recently. We sure needed it.

We let them score one more on us before we took over and finished the game off at 6-2. Our goalie, nicknamed Keeper, made some great saves.

It was a good day to be a 97 Woodhaven Leaf.

$25 great buy

Recently the store I work in, The Scrapbook Zone, did some major remodeling. We changed the store layout and ended up with extra display racks, that we sold. So I bought one, $25. I consider it a GREAT buy. My friends have teased me for years that I could have my own store and now I feel like I do. This little lazysusan tower is just what I needed.

Now I can sort things and hang them where they are visible. If I see it I know I have it and can use it. I sorted by placing stamps on one side, brads and thickers on another, and rub ons and backstock equipment on the third. I still have an empty side but I'm sure if I just go looking around in the closet I can change that. I laughed when looking through a box because I found 2 different types of cutting blades and 2-3 packages of each. Opps I guess I didn't realize I had spares.

I'm so glad Rob finally put a base on it for me last weekend and hauled it upstairs. Now that I've put things on it I'm hoping to get a handle on organizing all those little things that were laying around. I need to clean out the closet and get rid of all the stuff that really shouldn't be in my craft room. I'm spending a lot of time in there and the cleaner it is the happier I am.

Ahhh that's better.

Big Day!

Well today is the big day. After a month of surfing the internet, gathering information and about 10 hours of writing and rewriting my handbook, I teach my first Cricut Design Studio class tonight at the Zone. I can't wait. Little nervous, but that's OK. I still need to print my book out (I'm calling it a book because it's 12 pages long) and make copies but other then that I think I'm ready. I'm going to make a few note cards today, it will help refresh my memory and get me organized. My biggest fear is that we won't have enough time to cover everything. I wrote a quick survey too, for after the class. I want to make sure I've done a good job and presented all the information people were looking for.

Wish me luck.

Oh and it's Earth Day. Think Green today! GMA featured a spot on Terracycle today. It was about turning trash into cash. Very cool stuff go check them out.

Escape

Yep the beach was grand. Our drive down went smoothly and we arrived to sunshine and blue skies. It was s nice to be paying $65 or less for a tank of gas. Last year a fill up was costing us $150, ouch. Quiet the savings this year.

Dinner the first night found us at "Live Bait". It's got great sea food and ice cold Corona Lights. We sure needed them. Especially Sue, check out the face in the background. Now if she wasn't in desperate need, I don't know who was.

I saved the latest Dana Stabenow book for my Gulf side reading enjoyment. "Whisper to the Blood" was the latest in the Kate Shugak series. Absolutely loved it! I can't wait to reread it.

Well I had my toes in the sand all week and have the tan to prove it. We came home a day early. When you wake up to 20 mile per hour winds and 35-40 mph gusts, it's not a good sign for a beachy day. So rather then sit in the trailer all day we packed it up and headed home. The extra day there was welcome. I only did 8 loads of laundry. Oh well you have a pay the price for a great vacation.

Closing thoughts: Beware when biking of signs that read "Alligator Habitat".

VACATION

I need one and I leave Wednesday evening. So I won't be posting for a bit. I know I was suppose to post the Easter LO I did for the store but I forgot to take a picture of it. So I'll do it when I get home. I'm off to Gulf Shores Alabama. I'm looking for sun, sand and a cold cocktail. I promise to bring so nice weather back to Michigan.

See ya all in ab out 10 days.

A little Cuteness

I used the cutest Sizzix die to create this bunny and I just adore him. He's going to get a better flower and then he'll adorn this weeks "Pages 2 Go" kit. I'm doing an Easter layout with 2 layers of grass, a tree with dimensional leaves, eggs hidden in the grass and this little Bunny. It's going to be fantastic. Hoping to have the sample done later tonight and I'll post it tomorrow.

Happy April Fools day Everyone.
