Monday challenge- Doggie Doggie

Happy Monday! Well OK maybe not, so how about a challenge to get you going this week. Over on the Little Scraps of Heaven Design Team Blog we have a new challenge posted. We all did our own layouts this week and the challenge is for you to scraplift one of us. Once you've done your layout, come back link it up to the blog or post it in the Facebook Fan page. Just remember you have to include a LSHD paper piecing.

This is what I did this week.

I was inspired by this sketch over at Scrapbook & Cards Today.

I used the Doggie Doggie collection from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.

This is the top half of the layout-

And the bottom half-

(Notice I forgot to add the small photo, oops. So I quickly printed the ones off I wanted to use and stuck them on there.) I did do some hand stitching on this layout. The original sketch shows stitching and I debated if I wanted to do some. The layout looked naked without it. If you are looking for a tutorial on hand stitching I'm going to refer you to Kinsey Wilson. She does amazing work, her hand stitching it Top Shelf. You can find her stitching information here. Her main blog is called Kinseygirl and you'll find some truly inspiring pages there.

I hope your Monday goes well.

Goodnight Moon

Well I got invited to another baby shower, so I guess that means another baby book as a gift. I'm starting this one off with a sleeping baby layout.

I used the Goodnight Moon set from over at Little Scraps of Heaven. These little sheep are just too cute.

Here's a close up of the piecings and the title.

Have a wonderful day! And be sure to top over at Little Scraps of Heaven Designs to see all the new patterns from this week.

Happy Monday!

Another Monday is upon us but this one arrives with a week off school. Yeah!! It also means another DT challenge over at LSHD DT blog. Yeah!! Here is the layout sketch for this week.

And here is my take on it. (Sorry the photo seems dark, it was a bit overcast outside when I took it and the photos are old and a bit dark themselves.)

And a couple close ups of the parts. I used the Boy on a Limb file.

I had to flip the file horizontally to make it work with my layout. I also increased the size of the tree to 11.5". I then added a bit of journaling to the trunk.

One last shot of the title. My son was such a little tow head when he was a toddler.

Join us this week and create a layou based on this sketch, use a paper piecing from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs, link your layout to the DT blog and you could win $20 in free patterns from LSHD.

Scooby Doo Where R you?

Here's a quick one I forgot to share. It's another 8x8 baby layout. I thought it would be fun for documenting the first words.

I used the It's a Mystery Dress Up set over at Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.

Here's a close up of my Scooby Doo. I also used the barrel from the Barrel and Crate freebie. It's now a dollar download.

I then sized a bunch of talk bubbles and scattered them around the layout. The pattern paper is from Basic Grey Waggs and Whiskers collection.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!

Design Team Monday!

It's Monday and that means a New Challenge over on the Little Scraps of Heaven Design Team Blog. This week we are challenging you with a sketch.

Here is what I did.

A closer look at my pieces-

I used a couple different pattern sets. The Big Cookie Monster piecing was last weeks freebie called Cute Cookie (it's still available for a short time, so grab it quick). I wanted a little blond haired boy in mine instead of a bear so I changed the face up. I used a face from the Strike a  Pose- boy collection and re-sized things so they fit inside the cookie monster head.

The banners were created using the Banners Collection.

Join us this week and create a layout based on this sketch, use a Little Scraps of Heaven Designs pattern, link your creation up to the Design Team blog and you could win $20 in patterns.

Have a wonderful week!

Super Bowl Sunday!

We like football and enjoy the Superbowl festivities but we're not fanatics. So today we watched our boy win a  District Hockey game and then relaxed for the afternoon. Tonight we will head over to our nephews house to watch the BIG game with family. But in the mean time I just might have to go make a layout and use this Amazing pattern set from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.

Now how cute is that! I know I'll have some pictures of the food spread and everyone watching the new 62" Flat Screen.  (Men and their TV's  LOL) The set is called Super Bowl Party.

Today I want to share this 2 page 8x8 layout with you. It went into my friends baby boy book.

This layout uses the Thanksgiving Turkey and Pig pattern set. Every time I see the pig he makes me smile- "Eat Turkey".

I hope you enjoy the Superbowl and the commercials!!
