Busy Lil' Gnome!

Just a quick layout to show ya how I used those mini challenge pieces.

These are all pics of my 13 year old when he was 1 1/2. We take a yearly Easter trip to Gulf Shores Alabama and this is how he camps. I think I need to add a small piece under the "Gno" on the left page. It looks empty to me. There is a small mushroom I did not make, that would work perfectly.

A couple close ups.

I'm headed to Boston for Junior Hockey Nationals. I promise I will have some new creations when I get home. Have a great weekend everyone. Go get your craft on!

Weekend Challenge

Tricia over at Little Scraps of Heaven challenged us this weekend to create a layout set. Your set had to include a minimum of Two photo mats, one journal tag, one peeking pattern piece and one full piece. It was OK to add any other pieces you wanted. You did not have to make a layout, just the pieces that would go on a layout. I chose the Gnome in My Garden set-

And this is what I created-

I seriously love this set. Here are some close ups of the individual pieces.

Watch for a layout using some of this set really soon.

I hope you've been inspired to get creative. If you enjoyed this post please feel free to leave a comment. I LOVE reading what you thought.

Gone Fishing!

I started this Fishing layout with this paper piecing pattern from Treasure Box Designs as my inspiration-

I know, it's precious! Now as many of you have heard I've been into scrappin' OLDER photos lately. I found these fishing photos from 2005 and knew they would work perfectly with this paper piecing. So the next step a sketch. Found this one from Allison Davis Sketch Week.

So here's what I came up with-

I used 7 photos and will place journaling strips in the pond. The photos are from Memorial weekend 2005. Here are a few close ups.

Hope you enjoyed today creativity. The photos are not the true colors as I took them in a dark. Tomorrow when the lighting is better I may change them out.

Happy Scrappin'!

If we finish in the top 2 her,e we get a bid to Nationals. I could be Boston bound in 2 weeks. Exciting. I promise I will post new projects next week. So please check back then.

And my blog candy- remember you'll need to be a follower and leave a comment to be eligible.

Here's my project for today. It's titled "A Peek @ 2". Again I used some older photos from my stash. This time it's my son as a 2 year old and it's a sampling of photos taken that year.

I used the Peek a Boo Bear pattern and a little Jilli Bean paper to quickly put together this layout. (An hour) It accomplishes two things- a blog entry for today and this weeks sketch challenge.

Here's a look at the title and the paper piecing.

I hope you've enjoyed the Little Scraps of Heaven Blog Hop! I know I have. Your next stop along the way is Misty. If you missed the beginning head over to Kristy. And remember to visit LSHD blog to see the Grand Prize.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Star Wars and The Grim Reaper!

Better late then never is the theme for me today. But the wait will be worth it. I promise. Again while digging through photos the other night I came across some super cute ones of my 13 year old when he was 4. They are all so cute at that age. He was infatuated with Star Wars! For Halloween, at 3 he was Obi-Wan Kenobi and wore the brown coat with the hood that was in the movie. He was in LOVE with this coat and wore it everywhere! At Easter he was still wearing it, even down south in Alabama. His Aunt captured these pictures of him goofing around at our campsite in his Obi-Wan coat.

I took the Grim Reaper Bear from the Over the Hill collection and instead of a sickle I gave him a light saber!

By changing the color scheme of his cloths I drastically changed the theme. To make the sickle into a light saber I discarded the blade and increased the size of the metal attachment piece to become the handle of the light saber. If you remember the movies the Jedi knights wore a tan shirt and pants with a dark brown hooded coat- looks a lot like the grim reapers outfit to me. Obi-Wan's light saber was a light blue color as well. My son reminded me of all this as I was planning the layout last night.

Here's a few more close up shots-

I did a lot or multi level Pop dotting for this layout. In the last picture you can see this. The title has 3 height levels to the letters and the middle photo is elevated as well. I will add some journaling to this layout later, but I still haven't found my printer software so right now I can't print. I will most likely add it to the left of the Bear.

I hope you've enjoyed the Little Scraps of Heaven Blog Hop! I know I have. Your next stop along the way is Misty. If you missed the beginning head over to Kristy. And remember to visit LSHD blog to see the Grand Prize.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Running Late.

I'm posting a wonderful layout today that's sure to make you smile but my son is ill and I have to deal with him first. So I'll leave you this to think about Starwars and this pattern set-

Trust me you'll want to come back this afternoon and see the transformation.

In the mean time head over to Misty.
