I've Been Gone ...... Cricuting again!

Ha ha ha. I can't seem to get enough. I've been creating for the store again. This months "Explore the Bug Zone" projects so rock. This post will be picture heavy. So beware. This is an over view shot of some of our projects, as displayed in The Scrapbook Zone.

This next series of pictures is the banner Kelly made for class. It says Spooky on one side and Thanks on the other. She used the new Basic Gray lines.

There's more! Come back tomorrow and I'll post a couple more shots of things we've been creating. Gotta love your Bug!

Milkcartons and Carrier

I'd like to start this post by thanking Cindy Cassell from the Cricut Message Board for sharing her design. She made this file for the Cricut Design Studio using the George cartridge. You can find the file here.

And this is what I played with yesterday and today.

This was my test cut. I found some old stack cardstock from JoAnn's and loaded the Cricut. I wouldn't recommend this paper for this project. It's brittle and when scored and folded tended to tear. But for a test project it was fine. I'd also recommend some really sticky tape to hold the sides together. Tombo mono adhesive didn't quite cut the mustard.

I wanted to make a Christmas one to showcase in our Cricut Christmas Class. I'll direct people to Cindy's blog to get the file but see what creative things you can make with your Cricut.

I adapted the file by adding the window on the front. I use a piece of plastic I cut off my new Cricut cartridge packaging to make the window and now when I fill it with candy it won't fall out.

I used my stash to make this project. The paper is Basic Grey from an old line I'd bought in a pack on clearance. It had two of each paper, so two styles of cartons. I even had cardstock to match. I used a Christmas sentiment set (Art Warehouse) I'd bought at the Scrapbook Zone last winter to finish of my tags. I can't thank Cindy enough for sharing her file. She even supplied the scallop tags in two sizes.

I know I'll be making a bunch of Christmas things this year with my Cricut, how about you?

Cupcake ATC's

I finally got my but in gear and finished my cupcake ATC's for the AMR swap. Here's what it looks like when you stamp and cut out 23 cupcake tops and bottoms and the pile of debris. I used the new Basic Gray line Lemonade for my cupcake parts. Yummy!

I had a great stamp set and love the saying. Sometimes simple is best.

Ah my collection of 23 ATC's just before packaging them up for the US postal service.

I just hope everyone else likes them and doesn't mind too much that I was so late. Sorry girls.

Fun Finds

Mega Meet weekend is CRAZZZZZY! I helped set up our booth on Wednesday. Spent 6 hours unpacking boxes and merchandising. My feet and hands hurt by the end of the day. Then Thursday the mayhem began. We were so busy from them time I walked into the store at 1 till I left at 9. The worst part of it was we were open till midnight. Poor Katie closed and then opened with me Friday morning.

We found 3 opened Slice cartridge boxes dumped in the clearance zone late Thursday evening. At $39.99 each that's quite a hit for us. Then on Friday we found 6 Copic marker Nib replacement pkgs. At $5.99 each that's another 30 bucks. Then Saturday we found a couple more things. It's so sad that people who are preserving their family memories feel the need to steal from us. If that's what we found imagine what we didn't. We really needed more people manning the store but alas we didn't have the man power.

On Saturday I did manage a couple hours to browse the meet for some scrappy deals. Here's what I found.

These wonderful stamps from Stamps by Judith. I fell in love with the bear in the trash can. I've seen this a few times, always entertaining.

Some Basic Gray paper I didn't own. I haven't been in love with it for very long and needed to pick up these to fill in the collection.

And finally a line we don't carry by a company called Jillibean. LOVE it! Even bought some embellishments to go with it.

Over all a bit disappointed in Mega Meet once again. Lots of premade page kits. Like isn't that why we scrapbook, to create our own pages? I don't know. Not thrilled with crappy looking page kits, I can tell you that much. So glad it only cost me to park and not get in. Over all I think I spent less then $120 and that includes $86 on the stamps. I've spent why more in the past. But I must say I love the stamps.

I'm glad it's over and won't happen again for at least a year. My feet and brain were dead by Saturday night. We won't even talk about how short my patience was by late Saturday night. But I will tip my hat to my co-worker Sue. She's awesome and I hope her Sunday went well.
