Insta LOVE

I'm still working on some of the Chrispea Memorial Crop challenges over at Scrap Sisters Studio. This one was called "Internet Layout Challenge". Our Friend Chris was  a lover of the Internet as many of us our. So the challenge was to scrap your favorite places you visit on the internet.

I chose to base my layout on a Cathy Zielske Freebie. You can find Cathy's freebie download here.  I do not currently have PSE loaded on my computer so I had to do it the old fashion way, by hand. I opened a word document and placed the title and journaling. Then printed it out on copy paper to make sure the placement was good. Trimmed the photos and placed them there. When I realized the placement was perfect on the first try I reprinted on good Bazzill CS orange peel and placed the photos. I hand drew the lines and dots.

Here's are close ups of my title and my journaling:

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Love the Fall colors in Michigan

We have been spending some time touring parts of Michigan we don't usually visit. My Son has gotten into Civil War reenacting, which means we are spending some time in new territory. In early October we visited Wolcott Mill Metro Park. Beautiful place! So wish I lived closer. I snapped some great pictures of the fall colors. This layout was created for a Challenge over at Scrap Sisters Studio. We are still going strong with our Chrispea Memorial Crop. Here is the layout I created for the Fall Challenge.

I found a sketch in Scrapbook Generations Sketches #7 book. So happy I bought it. Here's a closer look at the title.

I added a couple acorns for accents. They were found in the shapes menu of my SCAL 2 program. Pretty handy thing to have a shapes menu. Yes that is a picture of me or should I say my shadow.

Happy Fall everyone!

LSHD Halloween Party Blog Hop

Hello, Welcome to the Halloween Party Blog Hop
We are so glad that you have decided to hop along with us.Throughout our hop we hope to inspire you with lots of ideas for hostingyour own Halloween Party. There will be some great blog candy along the way as well as a GRAND PRIZE GIVEAWAY of $100.00 in cash (which is a big chunk of change to buy goodies for a Halloween Party)

If you just happened upon my blog and would like to start at the beginning please hop on over to LEANN'S BLOG.
If you have been following the blog hop and have hopped over from Angie's BLOGthen you are right where you need to be.

I choose to make a Party banner. I used multiple pattern sets. Beginning with the banner collection.  I also used "Brewing up trouble" for the Witch, cauldron, and the black cat. The "Boo title" makes the Ghost and the Boo! The little Mummy is from the "Ghoulishly Cute" collection. The pumpkins are from the "pumpkin tag pattern".

Here are some close ups of the individual pieces.

I always stress it's the little details that make your pieces come to life and these are no exceptions to this rule. Each piece has been inked around the edges and either White pen or Black pen marks add the fine details. The little witch was given some rosey cheeks with a touch of chalk.

I so enjoyed making this "Party Banner". I'll hate to have to pack it away after Halloween.

Detroit Zoo Day

As a small child my son LOVED the Zoo. He could never get enough of watching the snow monkeys play or roaring at the lions. I found these Old pictures the other day and thought they'd work perfect for one of the challenges over at Scrap Sisters Studio. Our October Memorial Crop is going strong. In Memory of our Friends Leslie and Chris, did you- "Feel your Boobies today"?

Our challenge was to use a sketch from Sketch Support, specifically Sketch #8. Our friend Chris used it and made this layout:

As you can see I changed things up a bit. Where the journaling was on the original I put the cute little snake on the branch. He's from Little scraps of Heaven Designs. I tucked the journaling in above the banners.

Here's a few close ups:

It feels so good to complete a challenge. It also feels good to scrap OLD photos. One more down. I entered this layout over at Scrapbookers Anonymous. The October Challenge was to use die cuts. I think this qualifies.

I hope your feeling crafty today. I am! Lets see what else I can create this weekend.

Galactic Good Guys!

The force is STRONG in this group. Tricia over at Little Scraps of Heaven Designs out did herself with this crowd. They are The Galactical Adventures- Good Guys. So you know she created the Bad Guys too. Yep bought that file this morning and I will be playing with some Star Wars images again today.

Now you need to see close ups of each one. So up first Princess Leia:

Her brother Luck Skywalker:

My favorite Han Solo:

Han's sidekick Chewy:

And the robotic connection C-3PO and R2D2:

Such fun to make. The file was adorable and when they started to come to life on my workspace I was giddy. Cant' wait to go make the "Bad Guys".

Happy Crafting today and "May the Force be with you!!"

Hayride Fun!

I found this super cute file over at Designs on Cloud 9- Hayride. And I just had to make something.

So here is what I came up with:

I added a couple other files to it. I used The Pumpkin stand for the crows and corn and the Happy Harvest title for the hay bales and pumpkins.

Here's a few close ups so you can see the details.

I wanted a place for a few more photos so I tucked an extra photo mat behind the last photo and gave it a cute pull tab.

I'm thinking I'm going to start an Etsy store. Stay tuned for more information. This could be the first item I list. I'd love to hear your thoughts on Etsy shops.

Thank and Happy Crafting!

Playing with "Touchdown"!

Howie and Kendra LOVE playing with Touchdown and he is wonderful with them. Their Dad is a high school football coach so it's really no surprise he named the dog "Touchdown". I took these photos right off my friends Facebook page- they printed so well.

I started with the current sketch over at Sketch Support.

Here's a close up of the title and the coach:

The paper piecing patterns are from Designs on Cloud 9. I used two different sets, for the coach I used the Football Game set. And for the Football I used the Tailgate Party Set. Michelle has some really wonderful designs if your interested in Paper piecing patterns. She also gives out a weekly freebie. Be sure to sign up for her newsletter.

Now go get your Craft on today!!

It's CROPtober time!

It's October and that means many things. This year it means the Month long  Memorial Scrapbook Crop over at Scrap Sisters Studio. We'd love for you to join us. You'll have to sign up for the messageboard and give us a few minutes to approve you but all are welcome. We have tons of challenges and are collecting for a BIG donation to the S. G. Komen Cancer research organization.  You do not have to donate to participate but we are encouraging it. We lost 2 of our members this summer to breast cancer and this crop honors them.

I jump started my paper crafting yesterday with the completion of these little cuties- Cougar Kids.

I was trying to attend a Fundraising crop at our High School today but ended up with way too many things to do. Soooo I created these for them to raffle off. Here's a close up of each.

They were so much fun to make. The patterns are from Treasure Box Designs- Sports Pals and cut with the Cricut and SCAL2.

Stay tuned I will be back and posting often this month as I participate in this crop. The summer building frenzy is now over and all my computer issues are resolved. Thank God- I've missed my scrap room and blogging.

Go forth and be Creative!!
