Goodnight Moon

Well I got invited to another baby shower, so I guess that means another baby book as a gift. I'm starting this one off with a sleeping baby layout.

I used the Goodnight Moon set from over at Little Scraps of Heaven. These little sheep are just too cute.

Super Bowl Sunday!

We like football and enjoy the Superbowl festivities but we're not fanatics. So today we watched our boy win a  District Hockey game and then relaxed for the afternoon. Tonight we will head over to our nephews house to watch the BIG game with family. But in the mean time I just might have to go make a layout and use this Amazing pattern set from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs. 

Now how cute is that! I know I'll have some pictures of the food spread and everyone watching the new 62" Flat Screen.  (Men and their TV's  LOL) The set is called Super Bowl Party.

Today I want to share this 2 page 8x8 layout with you. It went into my friends baby boy book.

This layout uses the Thanksgiving Turkey and Pig pattern set. Every time I see the pig he makes me smile- "Eat Turkey".

Birthday Monkeys!

I fell in LOVE with the Birthday Monkey set the minute it became available over at Little Scraps of Heaven Designs. This is one of my favorite sets to play with. Here is a Little girl 8x8 Birthday layout I created for my friends baby album.

8x8 albums are so much fine to create. They really do come together quickly. I hope you all have a great week. Here in Michigan we are bracing for some "Snow" towards the end of the week. Looks like winter is here.

Baby Album pages.

 Well here are a few more baby album pages. This first one uses the Peter Pan collection from Little Scraps Of Heaven Designs. I put the journaling card inside a mini paper bag. The bag front holds the title. She's adorable, who doesn't love Tink!

This one comes to us from Treasure Box Designs. It was called Cat and Friends. I could not find it on their site any more so I have no link for you. 

This one is another LSHD piece. It's from the Water Babies collection. I used the "baby on a towel". So precious. 

This last one is from Designs on Cloud 9. I used her Wonderland collection. The White Rabbit knows all about the passage of time.

This album turned out adorable. I still have a few more pages to share but alas you'll have to wait till the next post.

Christmas Memories

I've been working on scrapping older pictures again. I came across this set from Christmas of 09. They worked perfectly for the 2 page December sketch from Sketch Support.

Then I added a few paper piecings from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs. Country Christmas and Peeking Santa. 

Combined the two and came up with this layout.

Here's a close up of the Title and the Piecings. I should mention the title is from Designs on Cloud 9.

So far 2012 has been a productive Scrapping year. Please God let it continue. :)

Happy New Year!

Little Scraps of Heaven is changing things up a bit for 2012. We will now have a card challenge and a sketch challenge every month. This is exciting!! So today we launch out first Card Challenge. If you head over to the DT blog you can see everyone's creations.

Here is mine:

 I used the New Years Bears. I also used an old Tim Holtz embossing folder and a stamp. Get out of here! LOL. I like the simplicity of this card a lot. The inside looks like this:

Simple- printed it out on the computer and popped it inside the card.

I hope 2012 brings many happy things to each and everyone of you.

Love the Fall colors in Michigan

We have been spending some time touring parts of Michigan we don't usually visit. My Son has gotten into Civil War reenacting, which means we are spending some time in new territory. In early October we visited Wolcott Mill Metro Park. Beautiful place! So wish I lived closer. I snapped some great pictures of the fall colors. This layout was created for a Challenge over at Scrap Sisters Studio. We are still going strong with our Chrispea Memorial Crop. Here is the layout I created for the Fall Challenge.

I found a sketch in Scrapbook Generations Sketches #7 book. So happy I bought it. Here's a closer look at the title.

I added a couple acorns for accents. They were found in the shapes menu of my SCAL 2 program. Pretty handy thing to have a shapes menu. Yes that is a picture of me or should I say my shadow.

EGGstra Special!

I don't know about you but sometimes you just need a little Easter cuteness to make you smile. This layout came together easily. I found a great Egg on the Designers Calendar cartridge added a simple curvy border and a "Make Me Smile" bunny. This layout is truly "Eggstra Special".

The Font for the title is Called Crazy Harold. It welded very nicely but for some reason wouldn't shadow, I've had that happen with a few True Type fonts. So instead I added extra detail with a white gel pen.



The Eggs are Bo Bunny dotted pattern paper, except the purple one it's Coordinations Cardstock. I forget what the patten paper brand was, sorry. It was the inspiration for all the color choices. I also inked all the egg edges along with the grass curves.

Ahh the little bunny. He's made from Bazzill Swirls cardstock and pink Bo Bunny dotted paper. All his edges were inked for dimension. I also pop dotted his hands. His blue egg matches the title color and was given definition with a white gel pen. The paper piecing pattern is from "My Scrapchick" and cut with my Cricut using the SCAL program.

This fun Easter layout will hold 6 photos. And was an absolute blast to create. I hope it inspires you to create a little "Eggstra Special" layout of your own.

Sketch Challenges galore

Hello everyone! Today was the BIG Snow storm of 2010. Ohhh look out. We received about 9" of the fluffy white stuff. Enough to give us a snow day and in my house that means everyone is home. Both my husband and our Niece that lives with us teach so they were jumping for joy with the news. And then my boss called and said I didn't need to come in either. Yipee! A free day.

I've decided to start doing some sketch challenges in an attempt to scrap my own photos and get some personal pages done in 2010. The wonderful girls on my message board post 6 different challenges twice a month. If your needing some inspiration come join us. Scrap Sisters Studios is a wonderful group of crafters. Here is the Feb 1st Sketch challenge. It is a sketch from PageMaps.

Here is my take on it. I chose pictures of my "Jacob Black Obsessed" Niece as my theme and ended up with this wolf inspired page. The pattern paper is from Close to My Heart. Something I had in my stash from yrs ago.

I found a wonderful paper piecing pattern for my wolf over at Precious Piecings.
I added some marker detail and Smooch to trick him out.

I capped my layout off with a flourish I had in my stash that I painted with brown Smooch. It has a really nice shimmer to it. The whole layout, including printing the pictures took me about an hour. I used my Cricut to cut the circles and title.

Life is good when a layout comes together quickly. Thought I'd blog this one real quick and maybe after dinner I'll make another.

Fa la la la laaa!

Lets "Deck the Halls" with a little bit of Christmas cheer. I'm not sure anyone can look at this layout and not smile at the cutest little Elves ever. This is the finished product.


I found the paper piecing pattern at My Scrap Chick. Couldn't resist them and the best part is it came in a bundle with a bunch more. Their names are Baxter and Bella, she has a whole series of patterns built around them. I imported them into my SCAL program, adjusted the size so the heads were almost 2 inches big and cut them out using my Cricut. The tree I guessed at resizing and then Cuddle bugged for extra dimension. I also decided to decorate the tree with some paper flowers.


Here's a close up of Bella. I just hand drew her eyes and the marks inside the bells. I didn't think they would cut well, nor did I want to try gluing them on. I highlighted some spots with a white gel pen and she was done.


Here's Baxter. He's actually wearing little overalls, so cute. Again I hand drew his eyes and the bells. I used some chalk on his cheeks and nose.


The title is my favorite font right now: CK Jolly Elf. It welds so nicely. The shadow-blackout feature in SCAL makes it easy to pop dot the words for a fantastic title. I added a few white gel pen details. Some simple stitching on my photo mats. Just a little touch that I think adds a lot.

A layout for myself!

Well I was surfing my bookmarks today and came across my page on Paper Craft Planet. I had joined a group over there in the summer where Jen Tapler puts out a sketch to motivate you every Sunday. It's called Scrappy Sunday, check it out. I was so inspired by this layout:



I right away created this page:

Totally thrilled. I got to use my "Tuckered out" mouse. He's a paper piecing from Precious Piecings. I also tried out SCAL (Sure Cuts Alot) for the title. It has the most awesome shadow feature. You have your word all set, go over to features and click the feature you'd like to use. Your options are shadow, blackout or shadow blackout. So cool. It does it automatically. No fussing around with trying to match them up yourself. I chose a CK font called Jolly Elf. Now if my Design Studio did this I'd never look at another program again. Can you imagine Shadow and blackout features for every shape and letter, no matter how you weld them.

BRRRRR....

When it's cold outside you get to warm up with this fun snowman layout. More paper piecing patterns from My Scrap Chick. I'm totally in love with them. They cut like a charm and go together easey peasey. I did minimal inking on this layout. A bit abnormal for me but they just didn't need it. I did ink the bird house and the snow on top the title.

Here's a closer look at my snowman. The left one has a bit of snow on his hat and arms. If you didn't want to cut the white pieces out you could easily use Flower Soft and it would look really good too.

I spent a few minutes arranging the pattern pieces on my cutting mat, I ended up with 3 pages to cut. The first one had the trees, the other 2 had the snowman and birdhouse parts. I figured if I got everything out of 3 cuts I was doing pretty good. Again so glad I invested in the SCAL program.

I have about 10 other snowman patterns to play with so be on the look out for a few more. Remember also Friday is Feaky at The Scrapbook Zone. Come visit me I work 10-6.

Nighty Night

Today's installment of Paper Piecing fun comes courtesy of "My Scrap Chick". She is having a really nice sale right now. Spend $25 and get 50% off your entire order. Way too good a deal for me to pass up. I picked up a couple bigger kits and these little cuties.

They went together very quickly. I'm going to make them into a page titled "Nighty Night" and give it to my Niece and Nephew who have a brand new baby boy.

The little sleeping owl is adorable. I pop dotted the heads on all of them and the Mom & Dad's hands. They still need a bit of chalking for some extra detail but other wise they look finished to me.

This set was designed with SCAL2 in mind and the pieces could be ungrouped. This made it way easier to space the paper on the mat, I could move the individual items wherever I wanted and then cut.

Well worth a try. Once you get the hang of piecing it gets faster. Wait till you see what's in store for tomorrow. A little Thanksgiving fun. I've already started it.

Well Hello there!

Yes I know I've been a negligent blogger lately but I was busy. Tonight's post is short but sweet cause I left my power cord at the store. When my battery dies I'm out of luck. I wanted to share my latest fun: SCAL. Better know as Sure Cuts Alot. Works with your Cricut and will cut any True Type font and SVG files. LOVE it!!

So I purchased a couple paper piecing patterns form a website called Precious Piecings. Lisa the owner is wonderfully talented. These are the first couple of items I made.



This little guy is all tuckered out! And he is as cute as can be. I added some Polar White Flower Soft to his hat as an embellishment, couldn't be more pleased. Can't wait to create a layout using him.

The trees are just whimsical enough to be beyond cute. More Flower Soft as the snow on the tree branches. You will be seeing more of these.

My goal this week is to post something new every day. So lets see how well I do. Thanks for stopping by. When I get my power cord tomorrow I'll be back in business.
