Happy Monday!!

It's Day 6 and we are still hopping! I was a little slow posting today but it's well worth the wait. You should have arrived from Liz. Or if you've missed the beginning and want to start there please visit Kristy's blog. There is a wonderful Grand Prize to be had if you follow these directions:

The grand prize is being sponsored by Tricia from Little Scraps of Heaven and she will be the last blog on the hop. In order to be eligible for the grand prize you must leave a comment on every blog in the hop, as well as become a fan of Little Scraps of Heaven on Facebook and follow the new Design Teams blog HERE.
** This is mandatory in order to be eligible for the overall grand prize.**

And here's my project for today:

The photos are a couple years old but I wanted to use this hop as an opportunity to help catch up as well as showcase some wonderful paper piecing. I used the Fun in the Sun Monkey set and picked the "swimming monkey" and the "monkey with innertube" patterns. I found a wonderful sketch from Sketchy Thursday's that helped jump start me.  The pattern paper is BoBunny- Sun Kissed and that's where I drew my title inspiration from.

I matted the Sun (font is Mistral cut with SCAL and Don Juan Cricut) and pop dotted the Kissed. The two little monkey's sure look like they are having fun in the sun.

I enjoyed putting this layout together. Sometimes digging through older photos brings Happy memories to the surface and help brighten a gray day. Your next stop is Misty. Remember I'll be drawing for my Blog candy on Thursday. There is still time to become a follower and leave a comment. Here's my prize:

It's Day 5!!

Welcome Little Scraps of Heaven Blog hoppers!

Today is day 5 and I thought I'd show you how I create my projects. When I decide what I want to cut I begin importing the SVG files into SCAL2. With the first one imported I choose the size and adjust it to fit my project. I then begin to "ungroup" and move the pieces around according to color. For this project I chose the Black Bear pattern set-

When I place it in SCAL2 and add all the bears I wish to cut it will look something like this-

This shot shows the faces. All the tan pieces and black pieces placed on one mat and the black body pieces on another. This makes cutting simple. I'll only load and cut two mats. The next step takes us to this-

As I'm unloading the mats I'm also sorting the pieces into each animal. I try to keep them grouped so sorting is easy. And then I'll have 3 piles of "bear" parts.

The next step is inking the edges if necessary. And assembly. Then adding the required finishing touches- white and black pen work. I ended up with bears that looked like this-

Here are close up's of each little critter-

I have a wonderful layout all planned and half finished. If I can solve my computer problems and retrieve the photos I need I'll show you the finished product in the next day or so.

Your next stop in the hop is MISTY!   For all the hop blog candy and rules please refer back to the Little Scraps of Heaven Designs blog. For my blog candy please see this post- LSDH blog hop Day 1.  If you're here for the first time today and would like to start at the beginning of the hop please see Kristy's blog.

Enjoy your Sunday!

LSHD Blog Hop Day 4!

Howdy Hoppers!

At this point we are 4 days into the hop. Woot! Woot! I've got another Wonderful project to share today but first lets take care of business. If this is your first day hopping or you've stumbled across my blog on accident the hop starts here with Kristy- Spraptical Kreations! There are tons of great projects to see as you move thru the blogs. Some people are offering Blog candy, me included, so make sure you become a follower and leave comments as you go along. There is a grand prize and in order to win you MUST leave a comment on every blog and become a follower of the Little Scraps of Heaven blog as well as LIKE them on Facebook. This is the GRAND PRIZE:

OK business is now taken care of so lets see what I did for today:

I had this photo of my Son when he was about 10, he's still an OREO freak at 13, and I wanted to use it. So I took inspiration from the "Bobbing for Apples" set and converted it to Got Milk? with OREO's. It came together so fast it was scary! And I just LOVE it.

The OREO's are three layers of circles off set ad pop dotted in the middle for depth. Had I been thinking a bit more I might have changed the tub up a bit and made it look more like a glass of Milk but it still works. The bear is inked on the edges and chalked on his cheeks, with a little pen work for the fine details. I also pop dotted his head for depth. (I am a pop dot freak so beware I will refer to them often.)

The MILK part of the title is crisp and un-inked! I wanted it the have a sharp contrast to the papers underneath. I put one last OREO in the corner of the photo to help draw your eye across the page. This layout works for me and the little bear adds to the charm and humor of the photo. I used the Basic Gray Pyrus paper line. I heart BG.

Your next hop is Misty- The Daily Scrapper.

Enjoy your weekend!

Now for my project today!

I'd like to apologize for my bad photos. I'm learning a new operating system for my computer and I haven't figured out how to crop my photos yet. I used Basic Gray paper- this yrs Christmas line. The pattern paper is hand stitched to the background, Kraft colored cardstock. A bit time consuming but well worth the effort.

The decked out shopper is from the Pirate Kids collection. She's the Damsel in Distress. She just looks shopped out. The blank space to the right of her head is where the journaling would be if I could get the printer to work. (New computer issue again, sorry.) She's adorable with her little shopping bag at her feet. It's a mini brown paper bag that I made even smaller and filled with some felt hearts. It shows her love of shopping.

Hope you've enjoyed todays layout. Your next stop is Misty- The Daily Scrapper.

Remember to become a follower of my blog and leave a comment for a chance to win my blog candy.

Enjoy the Hop!!

Day 2 and a NEW project!

Today is day two of the Little Scraps of Heaven Designs Blog Hop! Woot Woot!! Yesterday was a blast and I'm sure today will be even better. You should have arrived here from Liz- Scrappin' with stlye. But in case you didn't and would like to start at the beginning you can visit Kristy- Scraptastical Kreations. And now without further ado here is todays card!

These lovely little ladies are from the Club House Gang Dress Up set. I used lots of inking and a bit of black and white pen work to help them look their best. I made it an Easel card because those are my favorites kind of card to make. I like the idea of it being displayed by the lucky person that received it.

Here's a couple close ups:

BIA 101

So my Bind it All is no longer collecting dust! Yeah! I took a class over at My Creative Class Room to learn how to use it properly. I probably could have figured it out myself but what fun is that? Nan Paturzo is our instructor and she is Uber talented. So our first project was to make a Punching and Binding Guide. Here is mine. I'm just going to show you all the photos and leave it at that.

Super excited to have completed the first project. This weeks lessons are to make a 4x4 and 6x6 mini. So prepare yourself, you'll being see many more of these mini albums. Thanks Nan your a gem!

Be Inspired Creativity Prompts

I'm a surfer! I admit it freely. Many days when I should be doing something constructive I'm not, instead I'm out surfing the net. So on this fine day a stumbled across a wonderful site called A Matter of Memories!

Lots of inspiration just like they promise. Each month they have a post entitled Creativity Prompts. This months list looks like this:

What a fun list of prompts to get your creative juices flowing. If you click on the list it will take you to the original post at A Matter of Memories. Be sure to go check out past lists. I personally plan on printing quite a few of the past lists. Just the thing to get me going.
